| Naturalist Jami Nagel has had an avid love for animals her whole life. When she was 5 her parents took her to Sea world where she saw her first orca (Shamu). That planted a seed that would later lead her to pursue a degree in marine biology from Western Washington University in her late 20's. She was then fortunate to find herself with the family at Island Adventures, where she gets to spend her days amongst the southern resident orcas (J,K and L pods) and all the wonderful wildlife and beauty the San Juan Archipelago has to offer. Jami's need to capture every aspect of these animals has lead her to another passion in photography. It is rare to see her without her camera near. She has taken hundreds of pictures of the southern residents, gray whales, humpbacks, minke whales, numerous bald eagles and other seabirds. |
